American Cancer Society’s Patient Navigator program served 515 people in the Sioux Empire and 814 local hospital patients by identifying and eliminating barriers to cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment; allowing for the timely movement of the cancer patient through the entire continuum of care last year.
Ronald McDonald’s Dental Mobile provides restorative and preventive dental care to underserved children. Last year, 280 local youth were served. For 75% of those ages 13 and older, it was their first dental visit.
Sioux Falls Family YMCA’s Adult and Family Wellness program provided 835 low-income adults and families with wellness activities.
Sioux Falls Family YMCA’s Aquatics program provides swimming instruction, recreational opportunities to swim, and lifeguard training to youth year round. Last year 1,025 individuals participated in lessons.
Sioux Falls Family YMCA’s Youth Wellness offers area youth kindergarten through 12th grade the opportunity to obtain a membership. Last year 191 full scholarships and 2,281 partial scholarships were provided.
YWCA Sioux Falls’ Adult Fitness program provides many activities and services for adults. 1,470 individuals were provided membership opportunities at a lower fee.
YWCA Sioux Falls’ Aquatics program offers swimming lessons, specialty classes and open swim opportunities. Last year 763 individuals took part in swimming lessons and 2,572 individuals participated in open swim times.
