“When I was first diagnosed with cancer I was confused. I had such a hard time dealing with the disease and even finding the right doctor became overwhelming."

Helps individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Provides free dental care for children who otherwise could not afford it.
Increases overall wellbeing of individuals through physical fitness.

Need: 3 of the 4 SEUW counties had cancer incidence rates higher than the state incidence rate. The 4 counties had 967 new cancer cases in 2006, 27% of the total cases in SD.

Results: 365 cancer patients were provided with 921 different services in our four county area.

Need: The National Safety Council lists accidental drowning as one of the major causes of death amongst children and one of the top six causes for death among adults.

Results: Over 2,000 youth were provided with swimming lessons during 2009. Youth learn the basics of water safety, while also receiving the benefits of exercise.
