United Way, More Than Just a Thermometer 11 staff and 950 volunteers strong, the Sioux Empire United Way reached more than its monetary goal this year. This year over 4,000 children were provided quality, affordable childcare, 392 older adults were provided a peer companion to provide in-home assistance, over 1,300 children with communication disorders received assistance, and over 1,200 credit counseling sessions were held for individuals and families.
