$196,510 in Grant Funding Awarded to Area Non-Profits

Sioux Empire United Way recently awarded $196,510 in grants to several area non-profits.  Grant funding is awarded specifically for programs that have been in existence for less than three years.

“As the Sioux Empire continues to grow, so do the needs of our community,” said Brenda Kibbe, Sioux Empire United Way Community Impact Chair. “Each year, Sioux Empire United Way is pleased to provide grant funds to develop programs that are working to address our community’s evolving and unmet needs.”

This year, 12 area non-profit programs received grant awards. The funds will be used for programs that provide a variety of services that include: free after-school music programming for underprivileged children, free diapers and wipes for low-income families, and outreach support to isolated or homebound older adults.
