Volunteer Spotlight: Brenda Kibbe

Sioux Empire United Way is very grateful for the leaders of our community who give their time, energy, and passion to our organization. We are grateful for our Community Impact volunteers who give countless hours reviewing each funding application and for their guidance, professionalism and dedication to helping United Way continue to make an impact within the Sioux Empire. Each Community Impact team is led by a chair, during this Volunteer Spotlight segment let’s get to know these team leaders.

Brenda Kibbe, Citi,  Commuity Impact Childcare Chair.

1. What do you look forward to during this time of year as a Community Impact Volunteer?
I enjoy hearing updates on the programs we support and the true impact we are having in the Sioux Empire.

2. What keeps you returning as a Community Impact Volunteer?
I enjoy working with the Community Impact team as it allows me to engage with the different agencies and programs to see firsthand the impact that the United Way investment is making on our community.

3. What program is the most heartfelt to you?
This is a hard one – there are so many impactful programs we support and that I volunteer to support in different ways.  I guess I would have to say the different mentoring programs.   Mentoring has such a ripple impact for future years.

4. Community Impact can be very time consuming in the spring, how do you balance your work and volunteer time?
While I have extended hours during this time, I find value in knowing that it is making a difference for our community.
