Coins For Kids

Coins for Kids is a fundraising program designed to inspire the next generation of philanthropists and support a love of reading in our community. Since 1999, funds raised have provided free books for local children through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library via its local affiliate, Sioux Empire United Way.

How can my school get involved? SEUW provides all of the supplies needed to run a Coins for Kids fundraiser. Please reach out to Courtney Fordahl (courtney@seuw.org) to learn more about the Coins for Kids program and how your school can get involved.

How can my child receive Imagination Library books? Parents of children under age 5 who reside in Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, and Turner counties can register online here.

Instructions for Parents

Encourage your child to fill their canister with coins, reminding them that this spare change helps provide free books for children in their community. Send the canister back to school by the date listed on the paper slip provided with your canister. We clean and reuse the canisters each year, so please send it back to school no matter how full. Thank you!
