Active Generations Céilí Cottage Adult Day Services meets the needs of individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia who are unable to stay home alone during the day. The program is offered in a home-setting with direct-care staff. Services offered include: medication administration, bathing, monitor health conditions, daily exercise, socialization activities, and caregiver support. Last year, 22 individuals were provided with 10,000 hours of service. Read below from a note from one of the caregivers who benefit from Céilí Cottage services.
To whom it may concern:
My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011 when she was 55 years old. I heard from a number of different medical personnel that I needed to take care of myself because often times the caregiver passes away before the patient. With that in mind, I started using the services that Céilí Cottage provided that I would be able to get some respite. My wife has been going there for the last couple of years. I drop her off every week day and would leave her there on weekends if it were possible. The service they provided has been a huge blessing to my wife and a huge blessing to me as well. She enjoys going and it allows me to do some things on my own that I would not be able to do if those services weren’t available.
Words really can’t express the gratitude I have for the financial support for this program. I hope and pray that this support continues to be there for Céilí Cottage and for those who benefit from this service.
