Sioux Empire United Way Brings Community Together for 2026 Campaign Kickoff and Fundraising Goal Announcement

Sioux Empire United Way (SEUW) officially launched its 2026 Campaign with a morning of inspiration, connection, and community celebration at the Canopy by Hilton in downtown Sioux Falls. The event brought together nonprofit partners, community leaders, volunteers, and donors to celebrate the start of another impactful campaign year.

This year’s kickoff featured the debut of the Nonprofit Partner Showcase, allowing attendees to connect directly with SEUW’s partner organizations and learn more about their missions and the real impact they’re making in the community. Guests had the opportunity to mingle, share stories, and gain insight into how their support helps children, vulnerable adults, and people in crisis throughout the Sioux Empire.

A highlight of the morning was the announcement of the 2026 campaign goal: $9,264,349. Tony Nour, 2026 SEUW Campaign Chair and Senior Vice President, Relationship Banking at First PREMIER Bank, was joined on stage with his family to reveal the goal and officially launch the campaign.

Nour also showcased his custom SEUW sneakers, designed by local artist Mike Middlen of Kicks N' Canvas. The shoes feature SEUW branding, the 2026 fundraising goal, and The 437 Project logo—a statewide run Tony is participating in to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.

“Serving as Campaign Chair for Sioux Empire United Way is an honor,” said Nour. “Kicking off this year’s campaign is a chance to celebrate the incredible work happening in our community and come together to support our neighbors. I’m proud to stand alongside donors, volunteers, and nonprofit partners as we make a real difference across the Sioux Empire.”

“United Is The Way,” added Lisa Romkema, SEUW CEO. “This morning was a powerful reminder of how our community comes together to create meaningful change. Every dollar, every hour volunteered, and every connection made strengthens the support network for those who need it most.”
Attendees left energized and inspired to support the 2026 campaign, which will help support 73 critical programs across 38 local nonprofit partners serving children, vulnerable adults, and people in crisis throughout Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, and Turner Counties.
