Primary Objectives: To provide high-quality finance, database, and administrative support that ensures efficient internal operations and excellent service to staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Management and Reporting
- Support campaign fundraising efforts:
- Manage volunteer fundraiser and company assignments in the database
- Assist campaign team with packing materials, including producing accurate materials from database
- Enter data and process pledges
- Follow-up with company leads and campaign volunteers, as needed
- Assist with the validation of campaign results
- Generate weekly campaign reports
- Maintain campaign back-up files
- Generate and validate custom campaign and communication reports, as requested.
- Maintain accurate database by managing updates to donor, company, and volunteer information.
- Support data clean-up, data standardization, and optimization projects, as needed.
Finance Support
Generate and mail monthly billing statements, tax receipt letters, and annual giving statements.
Prepare and initiate pledge payments for bank deposit.
Review open balances and recurring credit card/ACH gifts.
Organize and file invoices.
Administrative Support
Respond to telephone calls, emails, and visitors in a courteous and efficient manner. Provide a high level of customer service to staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
Manage the general email inbox, incoming and outgoing mail, and assist with mailings.
Oversee office supply inventory and manage office equipment (i.e. copier, postage machine, etc.).
Responsible to ensure the United Way office is appropriately staffed during regular business hours.
Coordinate internal volunteer needs.
Other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the organization.
Job Requirements and Skills:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related degree, or equivalent experience, preferred.
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the following, preferred.
- Operating Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other office programs and equipment.
- Data entry and reporting in a nonprofit or fundraising environment.
- Utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and/or donor database system operations.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to prioritize tasks, handle sensitive information with discretion, and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Work Conditions/Equipment:
The majority of the work will be performed indoors at the Sioux Empire United Way office, utilizing standard office and computer equipment on a regular basis. This position requires in-office attendance Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
