Here are several ways just a few dollars can positively affect those who need it most:
• $5 per pay period: Provides 26 children a bag of nutritious food for the weekend so they arrive at school Monday morning focused and ready to learn.
• $10 per pay period: Provides 7 adults working toward a stable life to receive study materials and be able to take the GED test. As these individuals grow strong roots to become economically stable, these classes are a key step in landing a job with a family-sustaining wage.
Our Sioux Empire United Way is a careful steward of your generosity, with 90 cents of every dollar going directly to the funded agencies.
They rely on volunteers from businesses like ours to sit on their impact teams to help make funding decisions. They ask business leaders, like me, to be a part of the campaign by calling on other leaders to give back to our community through corporate gifts and hosting employee rallies.
Personally, I look forward to helping with the campaign and having my employees have a part in it too. As a past Campaign Chair, I have seen their work first hand and it is an honor to continue to partner with the Sioux Empire United Way every year.
