KIDSTOP has been a blessing

KidstopArt projects, STEM activities, simple cooking lessons, healthy snacks, and more may be just a few activities you notice in a typical afternoon at KIDSTOP, a free after school and summer recreation program funded by Sioux Empire United Way.

"When I became a single parent, I had to face so many challenges. One of the most difficult problems I was facing was how to keep working and care for my children at the same time. KIDSTOP was a game changer for me. They pick my daughter up from school, take care of her, and the best part, they are doing this all for free," KIDSTOP parent.

Extra touches through KIDSTOP create a strong support network for families. Children receive assistance with back to school supplies. Evening meals are held occasionally. Partnerships with First United Methodist Church creates fun holiday activities and additional support for families.

"KIDSTOP has been a blessing for my son and I these past couple of years. I am thankful for everything they do to make my family's life easier and more enjoyable," KIDSTOP parent.

Last year an average of 38 children attended KIDSTOP daily. 64% of participants reported an improvement in their attitude towards school.
