Planned Giving

Sioux Empire United Way's Legacy Heart Club

What is Your Legacy?

You can plan now to make an investment that will continue to help people in need forever. Making a planned gift is the best way to ensure your dreams for the community are not left to chance. Whether you intend to make a gift now or in the future, your Sioux Empire United Way in partnership with the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation offers a variety of Planned Giving options to meet the charitable and financial objectives that are important to you.

We will be here forever.

Sioux Empire United Way has been supporting our community since 1929. We have a long and successful history of providing leadership and funding support for programs provided by local non-profit agencies. Our position as a community solutions provider and proactive problem solver ensures an important community role far into the future.

Uses of Endowments

Income from planned gifts will enable us to raise more funds and therefore help more people through initiatives, grants, and ongoing funding of services provided by our partner agencies.

By using income from endowed gifts, Sioux Empire United Way will have a constant source of income. This may help offset declines in any giving area when a particular segment of our population is adversely affected by negative economic conditions.

“I have worked on 40 consecutive Sioux Empire United Way campaigns, but the planned giving program will enable me to continue supporting this important work even after I’m gone."

– Dan Kirby, Sioux Falls, SD

"My wife and I made a planned gift to Sioux Empire United Way because we feel they have demonstrated their expertise in responding to the needs of the community as it has grown and changed. We like knowing that our gift will be used in the same proactive manner many decades from now. “

– Rich & Mary Garry, Sioux Falls, SD
